Personality Traits

Ideals

  • A Badge is a Promise - Enforcing the law isn’t about power—it’s about trust. Clubs believes in upholding the law because people rely on it for safety, and he refuses to betray that trust.
  • No One is Beyond Redemption - Having seen how Roz’zak struggles to stay out of trouble, Clubs believes anyone can change if given the right chance.

Bonds

  • Bound to Vortain - Clubs’ pact with the Chaotic Good djinn, Vortain, is a constant push-and-pull. While Clubs values law and order, Vortain whispers of freedom, bending the rules, and doing what’s right over what’s legal. Clubs struggles to balance these influences.
  • Loyal to the Wandering Tavern - More than just his home, the Wandering Tavern gave him purpose. He will go to great lengths to protect it, even if it means putting himself at risk or making compromises he otherwise wouldn’t.
  • Unlikely Friendship with Doc - Despite their differences, Clubs and Doc have formed an odd camaraderie. Clubs sees the good in Doc, even if the man himself has lost sight of it, and does what he can to keep him from slipping too far.
  • Respect for Roz’zak - At first, Roz’zak was just another repeat offender. Over time, Clubs saw something more—a survivor who does what he must to get by. Though he often has to arrest the goblin, he secretly admires his resilience and resourcefulness.
  • Familiar Face on the Beat - Zuru, the shopkeeper, is one of the few constants in Clubs’ life. He checks in on them regularly, not just as part of his job, but because he values the routine and their conversation.

Flaws

  • Haunted by his past - Though he left the war camp behind, Clubs carries an insecurity that he is still just a "small" orc unworthy of respect. He pushes himself too hard to prove otherwise, sometimes ignoring his own well-being.

Backstory

Arriving at the Wandering Tavern

Young Drogash was born into an orc war camp. Drogash was smaller than his brothers and sisters so had learned early that he couldn't use strength to protect himself but needed his wits and charm to make sure he wasn't the target of his siblings wraith. When Drogash had reached the age of 15 he saw the Wandering-Tavern-Airship drifting in the sky. He asked his village what it was but none knew or cared. Drogash waited till he could sneak of and made his way to as close as he could get to the airship. He didn't know what this thing was but maybe it could be a way to prove himself to his family. The ship was descending to a nearby city. This was Drogash's time to strike, or so he thought. When Drogash approached, no one seemed to care about him. Everyone moved around him as if he was just another citizen. As he walked around town, he got a few looks but no one seemed to mind him. He'd never seen so many different races together like this. He came across little human child sobbing. Drogash's common was a bit rough but he asked the child what was wrong. He couldn't believe he was doing this, he'd never spoken much to humans, elves or dwarves but he was disoriented he just asked. The child had pointed to a small doll on top on a crate. Still a bit confused about human behaviors, he had the child the doll and gave a bow. He'd seen other humans do this so guessed it was some weird custom of theirs when you hand something to another. The child beamed! Then scurried off. Drogash thought "Well, that was weird." Later, three men approached him. Drogash held up his hands and asked, "Is there a problem?" "I don't believe so my good friend", Elowen-Straithe said with a smile. "I haven't seen an orc with a good moral compass in some time, are you looking for a job?" Drogash wasn't looking for a job, what's a job anyway? He didn't know what the hell was happening, but at this point he might as well just go for it. "I could be" Drogash stated as confidently as he could. And that was the start of Drogash's time in the Wandering Tavern. He had begun his career in the patrol department.

Career in the Peacekeepers

Since many couldn't tell the difference between a big orc and Drogash's smaller stature, the other Patrol officers thought he was the muscle they needed. On his first assignment Drogash ended up needing to use his club to subdue a rowdy patron. His fellow Officers nicknamed him "Clubs" and it stuck. Clubs wanted to be more than just known by his strength. After proving himself to be able to talk his way into information rather than just beat it out of people, he was transferred to investigations department.

Clubs meets Vortain

While investigating a case, a clue led him off the Wandering Tavern. Clubs followed every trail but eventually came up empty and as he was about to head back found a sodalite earring. He couldn't explain why but he kept it to himself. Little did he know, that ring was about to change his life. Later that month, a pact was formed between Clubs and Vortain.

Clubs meets Roz'zak

Clubs has arrested Roz'zak more times than he can count. Over the months, Roz'zak slowly opened up about his past, and Clubs began to realize that this scrappy little goblin had lived through more than he could ever imagine. Even though Clubs often had to throw Roz'zak in lockup when he stepped out of line, he couldn't help but look to him for guidance, even if it meant getting him out of trouble every now and then.
